OUR MISSION
The Sammy Wilkinson Memorial Foundation (SWMF) is dedicated towards
enriching the lives of children and our Youth worldwide by providing them the financial support and tools and opportunities to participate in sports activities within their schools and communities.
History
The Sammy Wilkinson Memorial Foundation was created by the National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS), a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization, and was designed to not only help support children in the United States engage in positive sports experiences, but to further allow children worldwide the opportunity to include sports into their lives as well.
The SWMF was founded in 2004 in memory of young boy named Sammy
Wilkinson who passed away in a tragic accident in 2003. NAYS Founder/CEO, Sammy’s grand-father Fred Engh, started the foundation in Sammy’s honor with the vision of bringing youth sports to children in needy communities and regions throughout the rest of the world. Since the program’s start in 2004, the
foundation has been dedicated toward providing children all throughout the world the opportunity to benefit from the gifts that sports may bring into a child’s overall well-being.
Vision
The Sammy Wilkinson Memorial Foundation’s vision is for all children around the world to have the opportunity to engage in a quality youth sports experience. We strongly believe in the positive effects, life skills and values sports can bring to a child’s overall development which not only enriches their own lives but the lives of others.
